Description :	Interféromètre solaire à monture méridienne (ex-monture d'un radar US SCR-268) équipé de 4, puis 8 et enfin 16 antennes de 1,1 m de diamètre, 9350 MHz-3cm.

Historique :	Objet ayant été conçu pour servir à la détection antiaérienne au cours de la seconde guerre mondiale et réutilisé ensuite en instrument d'astronomie. Matériel récupéré dans les surplus militaires américains. Un réseau de 4 antennes paraboliques de 1,1 m de diamètre avait été installé à Marcoussis en 1955. Les antennes étaient fixées sur un axe E-O. Dès que cet équipement fut jugé opérationnel, il faut transféré à Nançay, où, de 4 antennes, on passa à 8 en février 1958, le support E-O d'origine devenu trop court fut remplacé alors par la monture d'un radar US SCR-268 (pour Signal Corps Radio n°268) de retour d'Afrique occidentale française ; puis en juillet 1959, 8 nouvelles antennes furent ajoutées, une nouvelle monture de radar SCR-268 fut nécessaire à cette installation. Cet équipement observa de manière journalière pendant 45 minutes le soleil de 1955 à 2015. Il est toujours en place.
